After a turbulent year with the takeover of Credit Suisse by UBS, the Swiss financial centre remains largely stable. This is shown by the annual data compiled by the SFI on Switzerland as a financial centre. Last year, the 236 banks and 189 insurance companies generated added value of around 72 billion Swiss francs, the equivalent of 9.1% of Switzerland's gross domestic product. The annual publication now also includes an overview of enforcement investigations by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA and suspicious activity reports to the Money Laundering Reporting Office Switzerland (MROS). The key figures also allow a look at previous years.

The cut-off date for most of the key figures is 31 December 2023. Accordingly, the list still includes two big banks: UBS and Credit Suisse (Part of UBS Group).
